Terms of Use

Terms

These Terms govern your use of Philatelic.ai during its free, experimental beta. By using the service you agree to them.

Effective date: June 18, 2026

1. The service (free beta)

Philatelic.ai ("the Service"), operated by Ryan Cody ("we", "us"), is a free, experimental beta that produces an automated estimate of a postage stamp's likely grade to help you decide whether to submit it for professional certification. It is provided for informational purposes only.

2. No warranty (as-is)

The Service and all estimates are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

3. Not professional advice or an appraisal

Estimates are not an appraisal, certification, or guarantee, and are not a substitute for professional grading (for example, PSE). The Service assesses visible condition only and cannot detect thins, regumming, gum disturbance, repairs, or other non-visible faults. Do not make purchase, sale, or financial decisions in reliance on an estimate.

4. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or any losses arising from reliance on an estimate. The Service is free, and our total liability for any claim relating to it is limited to the amount you paid to use it (zero).

5. Your content

You retain ownership of images you upload. You grant us a limited license to process them solely to generate your estimate and to improve the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy. You represent that you have the right to upload them.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use the Service unlawfully, and do not attempt to scrape, overload, reverse-engineer, or resell it. We may apply rate limits and other protections, and may suspend access that threatens the Service.

7. Third-party marks

Philatelic.ai is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by PSE, Collectors Universe, Amos Media, or Scott Publishing. Scott catalogue numbers are trademarks of Amos Media Company, used here for identification only.

8. Changes and termination

This is a beta. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service or these Terms at any time. Material changes will update the effective date above.

9. Assignment / successor entity

We may assign these Terms and transfer the Service and its associated assets and data to a successor entity (including a newly formed company) in connection with a reorganization or change of operator. Your continued use after such a transfer constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
